Y2K
Most home PC users won't feel the bite of Y2K bug. Alternately alarming and entertaining, those forecasts of Y2K doom are not likely to come to pass for most personal computer users. The reason? All but the most ancient PCs operate on a four digit date system, therefore, the transition from 1999 to 2000 should be of no consequence whatsoever. As for older personal computers, software enabling them to deal with Y2K should soon be readily available. Even absent such remedies, Y2K's effect on even older computers will be negligible. |
